30 Years of Breeding
For 30 years we have been patient with our genetics. Each year producing sound, efficient, and profitable offspring to be used within our program and that of our customers.
Relaxed Private Treaty
With our private treaty selling style, you don’t have to compete or be rushed into your next bull. Take time to get to know us and let us be your guide in your next bull selection.
AI and Embyro Work
Using breed leading Angus, Gelbvieh, and Balancer bulls is a key factor in our success. With the utilization of our AI program and embryo work we are able to bring the best genetics from across the country to our customers.
Focusing on Maternal
We believe that the cow makes the bull. That’s why creating maternal and high performing females is our main focus so that their bull calves can pump the same explosive females traits into your program.
Exclusive Built Gelbvieh Program
To set our elite genetics apart from the rest of the playing field we established the Built Gelbvieh program. This trademarked program is exclusive to our genetics and is based off of criteria we believe to be present in superior Gelbvieh and Balancer genetics that stem from Wheeler & Son cattle.
Look for cattle throughout the year stamped with Built Gelbvieh, and know that your buying elite genetics that work for you in the pasture.
The main headquarters of Wheeler & Son Cattle Co. is in NE Kansas close to the town of Holton. This is the location where all the bulls and females are developed and sold in the Spring and Fall. The ranch is surrounded by native grass, fescue, and brome pastures where the bulk of the genetics graze each summer.
Wheeler & Son in the Ozarks
In 2015 we expanded our genetics into the Ozarks. The same genetics that graze in NE Kansas now graze on the fescue pastures next to the Lake of the Ozarks. The cattle are managed the exact same way and produce the same elite Gelbvieh and Balancer genetics.
Wheeler & Son in NW Missouri
Lee's Summit, Missouri
We’ve also expanded our genetics to the pastures just outside of Kansas City. Same cattle, same management, and all the offspring are brought back to Wheeler & Son headquarters for development.
